Our client supports the group's business activities in downstream manufacturing and marketing, gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG), upstream production and project management, and provides services to refining, chemicals, gas, metals, pulp, paper and motor-sport customers worldwide.

Gasification and Hydrogen Manufacturing (GSGG) is one of the delivery groups within the company offering a wide portfolio of services and licensing processes, supported by a significant R&D effort. The group has a healthy performance; ambitious growth plans and employs some 100 professionals based in the Netherlands, Germany, China, India and United States. The main GSGG department is primarily involved in gasification R&D, new business development together with Gas & Power Clean Coal Energy business, design package delivery and operational service provision to new and existing assets for residue, gas and coal gasification and hydrogen technology.

Key activities include design and start-up support to 15 coal gasification units, natural gas gasification for the Pearl project in Qatar, and tar sands gasification for hydrogen production in Canada. At the moment 70% of the company's business income is generated through licensing to third party customers, and they have significant ambitions to develop their own equity projects for syngas production based on coal gasification.

For our client we are currently looking to recruit a Coal Gasification New Business Development Lead to join the company in Amsterdam.

Key responsibilities

As Coal Gasification New Business Development Lead, you'll analyse and optimise workflows within gasification and in relation to various other departments, stakeholders and third party customers. You'll also be required to:

• Standardise the documents required for business development
• Participate and supervise the delivery of new business support to Gas & Power and third party customers
• Maintain an evergreen resource plan to ensure delivery of commitments in close cooperation with skillpool managers in and outside gasification
• Coach and develop gasification's new business support staff
• Identify and support equity projects
• Prepare technical proposals and technical appendices for licensing deals
• Conclude licensing deals
• Provide basis of design for equity projects
• Prepare standard workflow and documents for business development and licensing deals
• Comply with Global Solutions' deals management system
• Harmonise the Gasification Process and Coal Gasification Process delivery processes.

Requirements

With a degree in Chemical Engineering and proven working experience in technology or process engineering, you'll be capable of communicating with a range of disciplines, including project, process and mechanical. Ready to lead a team of professionals in a business environment, you'll have a keen interest in chemical engineering, while experience of gasification processes, equipment design and solids handling would be desirable.

We'll expect you to have knowledge of SGP and SCGP technology, a good understanding of process integration, and experience of project management. We'll also expect you to have fluent verbal and written English language skills .
