Our clients' Downstream businesses refine, supply, trade and ship crude oil worldwide, and manufacture, transport and market fuels, lubricants, bitumen, LPG and bulk petrochemicals for domestic, transportation and industrial use. Altogether, the
organisation employs some 80,000 people.
The Pernis refinery and chemical complex is one of the largest and most complex petro-chemical sites in the world. During
the next four to five years, Pernis is faced with the challenge of effectively managing and executing a substantially and
rapidly increased level of activity as it prepares for a robust future. Strategic elements prompting this activity are the
structural improvement of process safety and reliability performance as well as the expansion of assets.
The Pernis organisation is made up of production units and support departments, one of which is the engineering and
inspection services department. With around 200 members, this department provides a wide range of services such as
inspection, discipline engineering, turn-around management, project management and asset information management.
For our client we are looking to recruit one or two Rotating Equipment Engineers to join the mechanical engineering support group. Key responsibilities
As one of our Rotating Equipment Engineers, your prime accountability involves the performance of critical rotating
equipment. You’ll also:
- Deliver maintenance and inspection programmes in time for T/A
- Optimise rotating equipment maintenance and inspection programmes
- Monitor, analyse and advise on rotating equipment performance
- Guidance of rotating equipment maintenance
- Set proper KPIs for rotating equipment performance and analyse the results
- Provide project support relating to specification, procurement and installation
Other activities will consist of participation in multidisciplinary teams for root cause or bad actor analyses and the current
GAME project. This project introduces global work processes for improving the reliability and integrity of equipment
and lowering costs – one of these work processes is Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM).
Requirements
With a degree in a relevant discipline, you’ll have the ability to develop cost-effective monitoring, inspection and
maintenance strategies, and guide the execution of these programmes for critical rotating equipment for production
units.
You’ll have the skills to improve the reliability of rotating equipment, improve our operational availability in a cost-effective
and sustainable manner, and ensure quality projects are delivered on time. We’ll also expect you to benchmark performance
and improve site maintenance strategies. You’ll be fluent in written and spoken Dutch, and fluent in or willing to learn
English.
