The GSTPE Delivery Group currently has process engineering groups in Amsterdam , Houston and Kuala Lumpur and is in the process of setting up a group in Bangalore. They provide process engineering support to all the chemicals businesses globally, and support other sectors such as Exploration & Production, Gas/LNG and refining.
For our client we are currently looking to recruit a Senior/Principal Process Engineer for Projects to join the company in Amsterdam . The successful candidate will integrate the various technologies provided by the technology business groups with the location facilities into a working project that meets the business requirements. Key responsibilities
As a senior member of the process engineering group, you'll be expected to provide process engineering leadership for the implementation of medium sized to major capital projects. In detail, this will involve:
- Working with product departments to implement technologies at various sites outside the US
- Providing consulting and guidance during the scouting and concept phases of major capital projects to ensure a smooth transition to the feasibility phase and their successful implementation
- Guiding contractors in the development of the final process design and ensuring the implementation performs as required
- Providing direct process engineering leadership during the feasibility and definition phases of medium to major sized projects to ensure the delivery of results on schedule and within budget. This involves a strong lead role with the contractors to ensure a safe, operable process design that meets all the project premises
- Coaching less experienced staff
- Leading design teams of different disciplines and providing coaching and conflict management when required
- Focusing on the successful implementation of the best process options in existing or new facilities
- Providing start-up assistance as required
- Proactively working on best practices, engineering guidelines and internal procedures, and maintaining internal and external networks to be informed of new developments in the field
- Providing other services, including lead process improvement studies, performance optimisation, incident investigations, economic evaluations, technical audits and safety studies.
Requirements
With a degree in chemical engineering and excellent process engineering skills and background, we'd prefer you to have some manufacturing experience. Experience of medium sized projects is required and major project experience (above $100 million) would be an advantage. You should also have extensive knowledge and understanding of the petrochemicals industry.
Fluent in English, you'll have excellent communication skills, plenty of initiative and experience of working in complex, multi-cultural settings.
