They provide consultancy, technical and research & development services to a wide range of global clients, so you'll be working in a truly international environment. We're currently looking to recruit a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our client in The Hague. Providing mechanical engineering support to projects as a member of a front end development engineering team, the successful candidate may also be involved in integrity and reliability activities such as Focused Asset Integrity and Reliability (FAIR) and flawless start-up initiatives, and in site master plan development for industrial complexes including constructability 3D CAD model reviews. Group and non-Group customers are supported by this team for the Downstream, Upstream and Gas organisations.
Key responsibilities
As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll perform a key role in ensuring that mechanical aspects of all the project phases are handled appropriately as part of the Group's Technical Quality Assurance Framework (TQAF).
Providing support as a general mechanical/static engineer to projects, and consulting with other technical specialist colleagues for technical assurance, you'll make sure that mechanical project deliverables have the right technical content and are made available within the agreed delivery schedule. As such, you'll guarantee that all the necessary reviews and approvals are obtained within the delivery group, and are arranged at the key project delivery.
You'll provide technical input to all project activity phases and manage mechanical discipline-related activities. We anticipate that you'll be involved in multiple projects at the same time. Planning and progress reporting is vital as you ensure assigned activities are delivered on time, and you'll be expected to follow the mandatory documented procedures and practices for projects. You should also be aware that use of the technical quality assurance framework is essential for the project work scope.
Requirements
With a BSc degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline, and extensive related professional experience, you should have skills in a combination of the following mechanical-static aspects: pressure equipment, heaters and heat transfer equipment, piping systems, operations support, projects, maintenance engineering, construction, HSSE, general plant engineering and reliability.
Experience of working on investigations, audits or incident reports would be an advantage, and we'll expect you to have a good level of self-direction and self-motivation. Excellent technical and communication skills are essential, and you should also be a confident team-worker and technical leader.
