Principal Instrumentation & Control Engineers - LEIDEN, The netherlands

Our client is a global engineering and construction (E&C) organization of over 52.000 people and executes projects in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and the Americas. In the Netherlands, they are the leading E&C firm serving clients from three offices; Leiden, Hoogvliet and Meerssen. Leiden is headquarter for the organisation in Northern Europe. With more than 1600 dedicated people involved in engineering, project delivery and consulting, they execute projects and programs for clients in major onshore and offshore markets: (petro) chemicals, oil and gas, energy, biopharma and technical consultancy.

Currently we are assisting our client in the search for Principal Instrumentation & Control Engineers (M/F).

Within our client, all discipline engineers work together in an integrated taskforce. Input will be delivered in the conceptual, basic as well as the detailed phase.

Key responsibilities

  • Work according (inter) national safety & instrumentation design codes
  • Act as lead in projects: plan, execute and control Instrumentation & Control activities
  • Responsible for the production and quality of documents according to project plan
  • Act as mentor for junior team members
  • Responsible for interdiscipline coordination to meet overall project requirements
  • Perform/ review Instrument system requisitions and evaluation of vendor/ bids
  • Ensure engineering delivery meets scope, time, cost and quality
  • Write scope of work documents
  • Prepare proposals for projects
  • Support Business Development/ Procurement when visiting clients/vendors

Requirements

  • BSc degree in Electrical Engineering, Technical Science, Mechanical or Process Engineering
  • An additional Post-Bachelors degree in Instrumentation & Control is preferred
  • 12 years or more of experience in Instrumentation Design preferable in oil and gas production units, chemicals and polymers units or refinery
  • Lead experience, experience with multi-office projects, multi- ‘lines of business', multi-project phases and project execution in a taskforce environment
  • Flexible, pro-active, good interpersonal skills, customer minded, presentation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the English language, both oral and written
  • Computer skills for database and spreadsheet evaluations
